Prestige Award for Lifespan Psychology

Psychological Therapy Specialists of the Year

Working in clinics, homes, schools and online, nationally and internationally, Lifespan Psychology – The Diverse Practice is a private psychological practice established in 2017 by Dr Esther Cole, Clinical Director & Clinical Psychologist. Dr Cole is a third-generation British Jamaican psychologist, who lives well with long-term health conditions, whilst also being a busy mother of three. She worked in the NHS for 12 years, is co-editor of Psychological Therapy for Paediatric Acquired Brain Injury (Jim & Cole, 2019) and is honoured to have received the Early Career Award 2020 from The British Psychological Society.

The team work across the lifespan with those experiencing a myriad of mental health difficulties, such as trauma, emotional and psychological distress, physical and neurological conditions. Diversity and inclusion is at the heart of the practice and as well as offering therapy in different languages, they also tailor their services to suit patients from different religious, racial, class and cultural backgrounds. The judges were particularly impressed by the efforts made at Lifespan Psychology to make their services as accessible as possible to those who need them. Dr Cole and her team use outcome measures to identify dinical improvement in symptoms such as anxiety, depression, OCD and psychosis and their therapy is effective in reducing symptoms to non-clinical or mild levels.
