Chronic Illness
Chronic Illness
It’s a dark day when we receive a life-changing health diagnosis. It feels as though our lives will never be the same again. We watch our friends, colleagues and family able to everything we used to and we feel left behind.
Chronic illness greatly increases the chances of pain, fatigue and mental health conditions like anxiety and depression. It prevents us doing many of the activities we used to do and our quality of life diminishes as we face yet another hospital appointment. The chances of us having more than one health condition also increases the more diagnoses we have.
The medication we take can have temporary or permanent side-effects, we may struggle with chronic pain and fight for our original identities.
